“Daniel

I’m an Australian born, Tokyo based photographer, videographer and journalist.
I came to Japan in 2006 because I love MMA.
I wanted to get closer to the fights so I taught myself photography.
I have since worked for ESPN, Sports Illustrated, Fighters Only, Manto Clothing and many more.
My most recent work can be found at AOL’s MMAFighting.com

SOUL OF MAN FESTIVAL EVERY TIME CHAMPION ASIAN MMA GIVEAWAY TOURNAMENT EDITION!

During my five years covering MMA in Asia, I have amassed quite the collection of memorabilia, event programs and posters. Tokyo apartments are tiny and I will be leaving the country soon so I am giving all my stuff away.

All you need to do to score yourself something is create something to show the world how talented you are and to demonstrate the passion and knowledge of Asian MMA fans.

Highlight videos, career/event retrospectives, event/DVD reviews, photography, original videos, posters, comics, paintings, replica “Super Hluk” belts, t-shirts – create anything you like. Creativity and effort will be rewarded.

Rules:

  • All content must be original and must be created by you.
  • All content must be Asian MMA-themed with the exception of photography and original videos. The vast majority of you do not have access to a ringside spot or gym in Asia so feel free to submit links to any MMA/fight-related photography or videos that you shoot.
  • You may submit recent work but I’d prefer all content be new.
  • You can post your work anywhere – Your blog or website, Tumblr, YouTube, Flickr, Vimeo, etc. but please note that blatant attempts at blogspam/advertising will be ignored.

To submit your entry, tweet a link to me (@DanHerbertson) using the hash tag #AsianMMA. Entries close November 30.

The shipping cost for all this stuff is going to be enormous so although I would love to ship everyone something, it is simply not possible. I do have a lot of stuff though so as long as you put a bit of effort into your entry, your chances are very good. If you submit a winning entry I’ll ask you to email me your name and shipping address.

At the end of the competition I’ll try and figure out a platform to showcase all your awesome work. I’m sure we are going to unearth some amazing talent so who knows, maybe we could put together an Asian MMA community run fan site after this?
